Info and details are always released to us Badminton fans very late . It's embarrassing isn't it? Info and details are always released to us Badminton fans very late. Things are always organised very late. * Still don't know if ticket sales have commenced? * Have qualified players arranged for their travel visas yet? * Are accommodation and travel bookings already organised for players? Perhaps after this year, there won't be anymore Super Series Masters Finals (my bet). .
Don't think for just Malaysian local Badminton fans . Don't think for just the Malaysian local Badminton fans. Think of how a resident from the USA, Australia, or anywhere in the world, needs to organise their visa/flight/accommodation arrangements to come to watch. This Super Series Masters Finals event is organised as an international event, isn't it? .
This Super Series Masters Finals event is organised to be an international event . Just another thought... Hope that this Super Series Masters Finals event will not be held in Malaysia all the time. Perhaps, BWF and Yonex can get the Japan Badminton Association to stage it in Japan next year (in 2010). .
You're right, it's totally ridiculous... And yeah... embarrassing... It's like the Masters Finals are an afterthought. Considering the prize money I thought it was supposed to be somewhat of a major event. Well I'm certainly not convinced! Seems unnecessary if this is the effort they're going to put into it. Would probably be better off just not having it at all...
Maybe New Zealand could host the 2010 SS Masters Finals . Maybe New Zealand could host the 2010 SS Masters Finals. It's closer to Australia. .
ok. i googled "super series masters final 2009" and THE ONLY entry went up was this thread! seriously? the event is going to be next week and no proper advertisement? are they going to cancel it? i've already apply for few days off work to go to jb! we got no inside knowledge or anything about the status of this tourney?
Hope that our BCer in JB, nokh88, could give us more info . We hope that our BCer in JB, nokh88, could give us more info (from what can be seen happening at that venue, supposedly to be staging this event). .
With the way this is being handled and promoted.. ...i think BWF should rename the tourney to simply "Super Series Year End Get Together Invitation Finals". They can get rid off the word "Masters" cos we ain't gonna see the real top 8 players/pairs in the world competing, again...Last yr they failed to showcase the top 8 players/pairs; this yr, same old story..
Should be. There's only one indoor stadium in JB and all previous ABC tournaments were staged there. There are a few hotels nearby, namely New York, Grand Paragon, Crystal Crown which is @ RM100 plus per night. Players and officials have stayed here before. Thistle, Mutiara and Zon are also nearby but slightly dearer. From past events, they have a big shuttlecock at the entrance and some wall posters on the stadium and that's about it. I will be in the vicinity later and will take a look from outside which I think won't be much 'cos the decorations only take a day to put and it's still too early. Will keep you posted if I see anything later. Tickets for ABC tourney used to be RM10.00 for first few days and RM20.00 for QF and RM30.00 for SF & Finals. No idea about this SS Masters Final though.
There is another similar thread. Can we combine? http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75885
At least this will give Msian players more opportunity to win. Weather they will grab the opportunity and play their hearts out.. it is another matter.
yup, agree with you. I don't understand why every time SS Final is held in Malaysia. I hope other nations get a chance to organize this SS Final, such as Korea, Japan, Denmark or England?
LD will be participating in the EA games, so he skips this. BCL who will be sent to this SS Final, will skip the EA games.
