CHN has done poor planning on sending players to HKG open. In my opinion, CHN's early withdrawal has something more to do with tight schedule than simply because of bad draws. If we look at the withdrawal list, they are all eligible for SSM finals. http://bwf.tournamentsoftware.com/ranking/ranking.aspx?rid=77 It seems that CHN won't boycott SSM this year. And CHN certainly wants all its top players to participate CHN open and East Asian games for national honor. I won't be too surprised to see non-CHN players/pairs to withdraw from CHN open if they plan to attend both SSM and East Asian games. Can LCW, CJ, WL or even WYH sustain all four tournaments? tough...
IBF should enforce some form of punishment for late withdrawals to all players, except sickness and injuries. This is not fair to the spectators who may spend a hefty amount of money coming from the other side of the globe, just to state the extreme.
Be positive with the withdrawal of Chinese players..... The absence of Chinese players in any SS tournament should be a blessing for other players.....Badminton without Chinese players is still OK.... I personally feel happy if the Chinese players don't participate and happier if they participate but the winners are non-Chinese players. So if many Chinese top players will not play in Hongkong, it is good news for the other players. We will then see new champions.
SDK and Tanongsak also suddenly find themselves placed in the No.2 seed's position . Similarly, SDK and Tanongsak also suddenly find themselves placed in the No.2 seed's position. .
agree.. i think the pair of lyd/jjs will get extra rest than any other pair in the md category.. perhaps politic problem? yep, its their final decision and we should respect their decision though
Punishment for withdrawals??.. ..as somewhat discussed in the thread below: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76900
Yes, exactly....like i always said, we still can enjoy badminton without chn team participation......not a problem for me.......
Errr, East Asian you mean SEA Games in December? South East Asia Games, China, Japan, KOrea not qualified to participate. Indonesia, Spore,Msia, Vietnam, Mynmar, Brunei, Thailand are in the category.
East Asia is different from South East Asia. East Asia consists of Hong Kong, China, Japan, Macau, Taiwan, North Korea, South Korea and Mongolia. South east asia consists of Brunei, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Philliphines, Timor-Leste and Papua New Guinea. Both east asia games and south east asia games are held in December too, but they are different.
