It is the technique. Why are you stringing so high?

Ahh this is better news than the first review! I like this :D I finally gotten my hand a Z Slash today (no string) and swinged it around. No opinion on it yet but it feels bit solid, heavy and flexy to my first impression.

I re-strung it with ZM62 at 23lbs while it was better than BG80 it was still disappointing... Another friend of mine who's got better technique tried it and came to the same conslusion as me, while it's a fast racket, is it worth the time and effort to adjust the swing to produce the same or similar results I could get with my old rackets with no adjustments at all? And my partners will hate me for sure when I miss the sweet spot and they get the resulting smash in their face  Hmmm... not a bad idea I must say lol... But no, this racket is definitly not for me that's why I'm getting rid of it... I'll keep it if it doesn't sell but it's going straight to the closet or it's for games when I don't like the person I'm partnered with :D

Yeah, to be frank it felt horrible when I first swung it- really wooden and heavy in the hand, but after swinging it in anger, and with my new grip, I'm really happy with it and will stick with it for a few weeks and see how it pans out.

I'm such a poser though, that even if it was 95% as good as the Carlton, I'd probably still go with it just because it's fluro

Trivia for the day. Weighted my three current fave rackets, all gripped and strung the same, all 3U -

    AT900T - 101g
    Carlton VT Tour - 93g
    Arc ZS - 101g

The Slash might be a 'smaller' racket than the 900T, but man they must've thrown some carbon at it because it sure ain't a lightweight!

I am going to try it tonight and play with it. Yeah probably the racket does not suit your style of play. Don't give up on the racket yet lol! I guess you could put it as a collector item thou as you mentioned the closet heheh!

Well, the racket does need a break-in peorid before the performance comes in.

That happened to my Arc7. The first hour I tried it, I literally hated it. In the second hour, the racket seemed to come to me as it seem to have broken in and the racket performed the way it is suppose to and I like it afterwards.

It is a powerful and 'solid' feeling racket!!

Best string IMO would be BG66 and BG66Maxima for the ARCZ. Sharp is not too bad also.

    EasyTiger,

All my rackets, I've always rip off the original grip and replace them with Prince (Tennis Grip) leather wrapped very tightly, then add another layer of regular polyurethane grip. However, I haven't tried the way you do it. Yours is kinda like the anatomic grip of table tennis blade (and quite ala LIN DANesque with his anatomically wrapped grip plus thumb grip).

Well, thanks for the feedback. Just like me, I like it too more and more as I played it each time.

    MetalOrange

    Twobeer,

Well, yes it could've arrived already if you go direct from Japan. Anyways, pls let know when you finally get it and have a go at it. Tks.

    OrangeMetal

P.S. By the looks of it, it seems I have to change my login name from MetalOrange to LaserYellow! Ha ha.

so string @ 28lb should have good control?

(I string my ARC 10 using NBG 99 @28lbs too, but I think
the NBG99 losses tension after a few games.)

I don't know wheather these shops may be trusted but I just found two:
    racketpoint.de (available)
    badminton-vertrieb.de (available around next week)

Is there any official information on the specs of the Arcsaber Z-Slash? I am looking for an overview with a comparison chart like the one on the japanese yonex website.

There's not much to know. It's even balance, has a shorter handle than usual, has a slimmer ISO head than usual, most kicking around at the moment are 3UG4's.

They've redesigned the head so that it's more aerodynamic at 45º rather than 90, because they figured out (duh) that that racket is rarely at 90º to the shuttle for long.

Shaft and cone are slimmer, leading to slightly less drag.

    That's about it.
