blend half gatorade or other energy drink with half water. don't chug.. just sip in small amounts during/in between play.

sometimes quarter energy drink to 3q water.

I;m kinda undecided about energy drinks (red bull etc) before badminton. Matches tend to be short (sorta around 30min mark) so you don't really get the roman candle burnout and adrenaline rush and crash in that time usually. I might try it sometime for a laugh. My primary concern would more be the increased heart rate and thus harder to control shots.

I've got other different aims so I try a lot of things supplement wise. But I also think I'm fairly in tune with my body and won't push it enough to do permanent damage.

To have a proper hydratation you need to drink at least 1.5 liter in the two houers before your match. During the match you need to use isotonic sport drinks, or something comparable. Never ever drink drinks with cafiene like coffee or red bull, it dyhydrates like hell

I just drink cold mineral water, then I drink Isotonic sports drinks ( Powerade or Mizone ) after playing..

Mixing a little bit of black vinegar with water also works as an isotonic drink.. I only do that when I'm in Japan though, because I can't get them here in NewZealand.. :(

just plain water for me. although I have tried the sports drink and it does seem to give more energy, especially for 3 sets or long drawn out matches.
lol...... can't afford it all the time tho, so water will do most of the time :p

for tournaments ill drink water before the game during the 11 point break and throughout the rest of the match. if i have more than 1 match that day then i might bring some gatorade for after the match so i can have that.

when playing for fun which can last for like 5+ hours ill have water to start then some diluted gatorade later on in the day.
