Bona/Ahsan vs Cai/Xu would be interesting ..... I would expect Markis Kido to already brief his brother on what to expect .... Battle of the old guards, the already retired (but still playing) Wong Choong Han vs soon to retire Kenneth Jonassen, two players who can still shame younger opposition. Nitya/Greysia vs Zhang Yawen/Zhao Tingting, would be very interesting. I think this is the future INA NO 1 in WD. Zhou Mi vs Ai Goto and Nguyen TM vs Gade, a lot will depend on the older players' recovery rate. Both Zhou Mi and Gade were not impressive yesterday. Kendrick Lee vs Chen Jin, can the Singaporean close out his final European tournament with another memorable victory?
MEN'S SINGLES R16 Sony Dwi Kuncoro [4] vs Joachim Persson -- Sony is still shaky and was fortunate to beat Peter Mikkelsen yesterday. Another Danish opponent awaits today in the form an in-form Joachim Persson. Expect a tight battle and Persson might suprise us. Taufik Hidayat [7] vs Mohd Hafiz Hashim -- another battle between these 2 players after Taufik's lucky victory at the China Masters, saving a match pt at 19-20 in the decider set. I think Taufik can win again! MEN'S DOUBLES R16 Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan [1] vs Chris Langridge/David Lindley -- after a nice 3 days rest, the World and Olympics Champions are back in action in their last tournament of the year. I hope they can end the season with a bang! Rian Sukmawan/Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki [8] vs Michael Fuchs/Ingo Kindervater -- once again, another GER pair to handle today and I think Rian/Yoke can progress to another QF. Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan vs Cai Yun/Xu Chen [6] -- it will be a great victory for Bona/Ahsan if they were to beat Cai/Xu, but, I think the CHN pair should prevail! WOMEN'S SINGLES R16 Maria Kristin Yulianti vs Nana Brosolat Jensen -- Maria should be full of confidence after her victory over the reigning World Champions yesterday! Expect another titanic battle with Lu Lan on Friday! WOMEN'S DOUBLES R16 Du Jing/Yu Yang [1] vs Lita Nurlita/Endang Nursugianti -- no question abt it, the Olympics Champion to win! Rani Mundiasti/Jo Novita vs Wong Pei Tty/Chin Ee Hui [4] -- a repeat of the Denmark Open Final. Let's see if Rani/Jo can avenge their loss. The MAS pair has the edge. Nitya Krishinda Maheswari/Greysia Polii vs Zhang Yawen/Zhao Tingting [6] -- another test awaits INA's promising young pair. It will be a major upset if they can beat the sixth-seed. Sarah Bok/Imogen Bankier vs Vita Marissa/Liliyana Natsir [2] -- free from the exertion in XD, I hope Vita Marissa can concentrate on WD. Today's match is just a warm-up for the tougher task starting tomorrow. MIXED DOUBLES Nova Widianto/Liliyana Natsir [1] vs Jorrit De Ruiter/Iise Vaessen -- a warm-up match for the two times World Champions. Robert Blair/Imogen Bankier [6] vs Devin Lahardi/Lita Nurlita -- a tough test for Devin/Lita and I hope they can progress to QF. If both INA pairs win today, a place in the SF will be guaranteed.
I would prefer if Maria meets Eriko 2mrw instead of LL......post traumatic lost in last 2 SS tight matches....just my thought.......
me too... i prefer MKY meet Eriko rather than LL, as she lost twice in the previous SS... But, if she meet LL and win the match, her mentality will be up again...
Just to add on abedeng's comments. Wong Choong Han vs Kenneth Jonassen - According to BWF website, WCH is 4-1 in terms of H2H. 4 of their encounters were in 2000-2002 and the last ones with WCH winning in straight sets in China Masters 2007. I'm not sure how bad KJ's injury is right now but it will be an interesting match to watch. WCH in 3. Zhou Mi vs Ai Goto - With her ability, Ai Goto shouldn't be playing qualifying matches already. I won't be too surprised if ZM were to lose this match considering the continuous tourneys she entered. ZM in 3. Nguyen Tien Minh vs Peter Gade - PG didn't impressed me at all at Denmark Open finals last week. Will NTM have enough to beat PG? PG in 3. Kendrick Lee vs Chen Jin - Kendrick is one of the lower-ranked players that can match CJ' speed. Kendrick won their last 2 encounters. Since CJ is not in good form after OG, I thought Kendrick has a chance. Kendrick in 3.
Read about Greysia injuring her wrist in yesterday's match, hope she is better before the battle with the CHN pair.
Ria should take care Nana Brosolat Jensen first before meets Eriko or Lu Lan... 90 minutes to go for 2nd round match...
My prediction ina pair in wd Lita and endang vs dujing and yuyang = 55 - 45 Greysia and nitya vs zhang and zhao = 75 - 25 Jo and rani vs wong pei tty and chin eei hui = 80 - 20 Vita and lilyana vs sarah and imoge = 95 - 5.
Du/Yu are OG gold medalist and you give 45:55? I'd give the CHN pair 70:30! And... Who do you think Zhang Yawen and Zhao Tingting are, giving them only 25% chance to win?
nonie is a true fan of the INA team . No Other Nation, Indonesia Excels. nonie is a true fan of the INA team. .
five minutes to go... nova/butet vs de ruiter/vaessen and lena/kamilla vs olver/rayappan should be ready by now
