Actually what's so great about the scratch pair winning? It's not unexpected. Didn't kkk/tbh win their first titles as a scratch pair?As long as the scratch pair is of decent quality, they have an advantage over an established MD.The scratch pair has done the homework and prepare the surprises for the other MD who go into the match like a discovery tour for the first half and by the time they know what they should have done, the match's probably over.Scratch pairs probably have a honeymoon period of 3 tournaments and if they have been videoed, this may be reduced to 1 tournament. LYB knows this advantage won't last long, that's why LYB's not extending it to CO;this scratch pair strategy is the fastest way for the younger partners to collect sizeable ranking points so that on their own, they can be catapulted straight into the main draw for their subsequent tournaments. During their scratch pair status, kkk/tbh were incredible because their opponents didn't know anything about tbh and what hit them.
<yawn> obviously some have not noticed that Cai Yun/ Xu Chen are 6th seeds in this Denmark SS. The other China stratch pair, unranked FHF/Shen Ye have managed to beat 4th seeds Lars/Jonas to reach finals. We shall see if today Fu/Shen can beat the OG gold medalist.
Hope for MAL MD.... last week just watch the 2007 Denmark SS, btw KKK/TBH and Mk/Hs, in which i also heard the commentators said this was the " world class MD match". a year after this, i thought this MAL pair will bounce up after the victory at Macau open. so they can defend their championship at 08 Demnark open. Haven't saw their performance during the match btw them and the new china pair (CAI/XU). but really felt dissapointed when i didn't saw they appearence in the final on yesterday live broadcast, since i haven't update the tournament info on THURs. will they still bringing hope for MAL MD????
Would someone be so nice as to tell me how long has Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan been playing as pair before they reach this stage of consistency ?
^^Off topic-Gotta ask & confirm with..^^ ..their biggest BC super-fan, badMania....I'm guessing about 4-5 yrs (they're both 24 y.o. this yr)..
Koo/Tan, and still legions of younger pairs in MAS' MD arsenal. Till this very second, I still believe that MAS' best chance for 2012 OG gold is from MD.
are u praising LYB's coaching tenacity again of course there are many advantages to forming scratch pairs. U even highlighted the kkk/tbh case of why they did so well as a scratch pair. PROBLEM IS, why do u keep bringing forward your analytical abiltiy of LYB and NOT HELPING THE MALAYSIAN TEAM? Is bashing LYB the way to success for other countries? You see, if kkk/tbh did so well as a scratch pair and we all know their performance sucks after that (ie. this titled thread), why don't u criticize rexy or BAM for keeping kkk/tbh going downhill together. You know, and according to u LYB knows that "this advantage won't last long'. Why don't u tell bam/rexy to keep mixing up MAL's MD/WD pairs and promote more scratch pair success? FUZZY also not doing as well now either than when they first started. your hatred is keeping u from being rational.
at this rate of betting, pemuda won't have enough hair (due to age) left to keep wagering bets against MAL's MD in future olympics LOL
BAM is trying out a new scratch pair too ------------------------------------------------------------- Badminton: BAM to be more selective 2008/10/28 THE Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) will in future be more selective when sending players to international championships to ensure the players are at their best to maintain their world ranking. Its president Datuk Mohd Nadzmi Salleh said there was no use in sending out-of-form players to championships as their poor performances would affect their ranking to qualify for bigger tournaments like the Super Series. "We have our annual targets and can determine which championship to compete or not," he told reporters at his Aidilfitri open house on Shah Alam on Sunday. "The players must be fully prepared for any championship. There is no point in sending players who will only lose due to lack of fitness and preparation." Nadzmi said BAM will also be sending its promising second stringers to several championships of the Super Series. -- Bernama
Why are you so sure? 2012 isn't really that far away. Not that far compared to the period when you can see real Gundam robots roaming the streets. Are you thinking Mr. Pemuda as a wise, aged man who's so old he can't surf the internet (and to some extent, make a bet) by then?
^^Hmm...wise, aged man...^^ ..reminds me of cooler's one fave BC discussion partner (and yes, he's quite nifty with all this internet/computer stuff)...hmmmm... ..waiting for our koo_fan to give both of you hi-10...
