I actually like to play volleyball more than badminton. For me, it is ok using volleyball shoes for badminton. The movement almost the same. My Mizuno is also meant for volleyball, but I also use it for badminton
where can we get these shoes william? which state and which shop? thanks for the info. mizuno : mainly can be found in world of sports stores. some supermarkets. here in ipoh, we can find mizuno in ipoh parade. mostly volleyball shoes though.

I've been wearing Mizuno volleyball shoes for almost 2 years, in terms of tracking and lateral movement, they are similar to badminton shoe, however, volleyball shoe is a little higher(cushion is thicker) hence take a while in getting use to just like change to a longer racket, need minor adjustment.
Mizuno vs Asics vs Yonex Hey guys, every shoe is different even if they are from the same manufacturer. I think besides being low to the ground, badminton shoes need to be flexible at the toes and balls of the feet when you bend them. From my experience: Mizuno Wave is hard plastic, I recommend getting a pair that has visible space between the Wave and the foam. But, that will make them higher from the ground. Asics are a hit and miss. The Gel is very comfortable, but some of the newer / higher end shoes have too much padding in the toe drag area and are clunky. Yonex are the best for badminton all around, however being lower to the ground also means more impact. I can't comment on the Mizuno or Asics badminton specific shoes though.
I used to use Asics for running but never tried their badminton shoes -- not even aware they make them. My previous 2 Yonex's (pre 2004) were great but they didn't last too long. Both tore open in the left inner front within a year. It's due to wear and tear because I drag my left leg and the shoes weren't exactly designed for that. I didn't want to take any risk so had to change them. I am currently on my 3rd pair of Mizuno. None of them broke. I still use my 2nd pair on dirty courts and/or non-important games. The 2nd pair is almost 3 years old now. I'm quite a Mizuno fan now
from the pic, i am using the "right" mizuno. it's very comfortable and durable. it's very fast on the court too.
I got a pair of; Acsic Gel tactics - absolutely hate wearing them Mizuno Wave Nirvana 4 (I think) - very very comfy and good support. Not gum sole tho =( Yonex SHB100 special - Solid shoe, comfy (still getting used to them), and nice grip =) Although I use the SHB100's for badminton I prefer the Mizuno's because they are higher I get a wee bit more cushioning which is better for my crappy knees, and give better support for my pronated feet. Having said that the SHB100's are brand new and Im still getting used to them.
meaning acsics not good ?!?! changed my mind to get them already then ..... so u recommended mizuno ?
I think those Asics were on UK Ebay for 20GBP. I nearly bought them but decided against it. Hi-Tec looked a lot more fresh for the same price. Not sure how they compare to each other. p.s Why can I not make new topic?
RevoWithin, Shoes are personal matter as everybody have different shapes, sizes and comfort feel. You are safe to choose either Asics or Mizunos. Like Will@m said, you just gotta try them out. For me, both brands are pretty similiar and the tie-breaker being which shoes look nice on me S1Driver, I used to wear Hi-Tec, their indoor court shoes are really durable comparing to other brands and they are making nicer designs all the time. However I find that their shoes are mainly for the squash rather than badminton cuz they seem a tad heavier.
