^^Did i wake you guys up??..^^ ..good to see you reporting here, ms. yanyan. For a second i though you wouldn't be updating us anymore. And, is your partner in crime aka Ms. askytt going to update us with any happenings also?... Yeah, this yr should bring many more top players. Cos i remember the Denmark Open from last yr, you wanted to see many players & really went down to your knees and were doing a lot of this , eh??..
Chong Wei may/might skip the Denmark Open and compete in the French Open, the following week, instead. remember the bold word..
Rijal/vita, flandy/polii, nova/lily will pass??? i read my newspaper today and saw a news... they said that Rijal/vita, flandy/polii, Nova/Lily will not participate in Denmark for saving their energy for French open.. INA will only send INA XD juniors to Denmark... Is this true??? because i think without them, this SS will less exciting...:crying::crying: Is this mean also Vita/Lily wouldn't play for WD too??
WHAAATTT..!!!!!!!!!!! Why dont they join DenSS then skip FraSS, to get more rest to face Chin and HK SS........... hiks...hiks.... i would b very disappointed if they dont join
Just checked with Butet...she confirmed that she and Nova, Rizal/Vita are not going...she is not sure about Flandy/Grace...
Flandy confirmed that he and Grace are going to DEN Open but not Taufik..Vita/Rijal and Nova/Natsir........ For Simon, he is still nurturing his back injury...2 weeks ago, he still had a bit pain..lets see if he can recover in time to go...if not, he will drop out too...
partner in crime. what have we done? hahaha. missing out hau ge and francis this year :crying: and of course all the other bc'ers.
Seems like Olympics is the killer to the success of the remaining 2008 tournaments, so many withdrawal and non-participating :crying:
I've.. ..somewhat alluded about this scenario in another thread, that this yr's OG has left somekind of a lingering effect to the subsequent tourneys. Partly, it's the timing issue. Not only are we missing CHN's top players, but also those from KOR and DEN. I don't recall how long did the residual OG effect take place after the 2004 OG (Athens). I know i was a pure BC newbie in 2004, so any BCer, in that era, still remembers??..
I don't think I had joined BC yet then either. I can tell you, though, that according to BC, there were 3 European tournaments a month after the Olympics and that no Koreans played in any of them. Also, the schedule wasn't as packed back then. I think there were only seven 5 or 6 star tournaments that year and one, the HK Open, was cancelled. Remember that in 2004, the French and Swiss were much smaller and there was no China Masters and the Malaysian and All England were offering less than 5* prize money. That made it easy to pack more high-level tournaments into the last two months so there were four 5,6* events in November and December and although the HK Open was cancelled, the China, Singapore and Indonesia Opens were fairly well attended and we saw the new partnerships especially in XD like Nova/Lilyana, Xie/Zhang, and Lee/Lee and WD like Lee/Lee. Some new pairs had come in brand new right after the Olympics, of course. Bach/Gunawan, for example, were in the US Open and the 3 European tournaments starting in September and Xie/Zhang debuted in Denmark in October. We've seen that kind of thing this year, too, with the new Chinese entries playing in Japan,CM, and Macau. Still, none of Korea's top singles players - Jun Jae Youn, Lee Hyun Il, or Shon Seung Mo - played internationally again until 2005. I don't remember that many retirements, though, other than the obvious five Koreans (Kim,Ra,Lee,Yoo and Kim Yong-hyun with Ha Tae Kwun coming a little later) and Thailand's Teerawiwatana, whose departure left Tisana without a partner. Xia Xuanze had already been left off the Olympic team and Zhou Mi's hiatus had not yet begun as she played in the China Open in November.
^^Off topic-Yep..^^ ..i kinda remember that, but boy, BC was still "quiet" at that time.... And yes, i do still remember that yr's U.S. Open and it was also the first time i made my first ever post in BC.....Time sure flies and i can't imagine we're already 4 yrs from that time...
I've heard that Widianto/Natsir will not participate in Denmark Open 'cause PB PBSI want them to have a break before France Open. Is that true?
