It surely is. I saw a short clip of me playing and instantly noticed why I wasn't feeling comfortable playing attacking shots from the back of the court sometimes. My problem was that my hitting point was almost directly over my head instead of in front of me.
It's not pointless, as long as you have enough technical knowledge to spot things that aren't correct.
If you're regularly watching the professionals play then you will most certainly be disappointed watching yourself play. But nonetheless you can see your weaknesses and things you can improve, so I wouldn't say it's pointless.
Definitely, specially if you have an experienced player or coach to help analyse your video, he/she will be able to point out the faults and what to do to correct them. Your friend knows nothing...lol, ignore what he/she says and try it. Kindest regards, -Ajay- Quote of the Day He's turned his life around. He used to be depressed and miserable. Maybe he meant pointless as in depressing watching how badly he/we play... compared to how we think we play...
ofcourse, just like a person who is on food diet, he needs to jot down everything he eats for records and next step is compute the calories intake of the food he ate
It is, since you might imagine you are doing something a certain way, but you are really not. One way you find out is recording. That said, I find it awkward to record myself and see myself, so I never do that.
