I'd say give it more time. I didn't notice anything until 3-4 weeks and even then it was very minor. It was probably 6+ weeks when I felt a definite improvement. Additionally, I think synergy between rest/diet/exercise is an important helping factor as well. For instance, my aunt, she's been taking astaxanthin for 4+ months now and it's done absolutely nothing for her. However, she never exercises and has a bad diet consisting of lots of animal fat, significant sugar and lots of salt. If like that, I don't think any supplement will be effective.
No problem Dink. I'm not looking for a miracle cure. i was already accepting that my elbow pain will have to be something chronic that I'll have to live with for the rest of my life. So it it even helps a little bit then I'll be a happy camper.
Seriously guys... could anyone have pointed out this "side effect" a little earlier? My wife stopped taking the Astaxanthin a couple of weeks ago because it had no effect for her and she didnt't like that "fishy" aftertaste (no clue what she meant). Since it was too expensive to dump it in the bin, I gave it a go myself to see if it had any positive effect regarding regeneration after workout, better immune system etc. Long story short, the result has been measured yesterday at 1.25 cm length and has a heartbeat of around 160 bpm. Hooray for increasing the badminton population!
Congratulations!! Would love to send your future champion a present. But at 1.25 cm tall it's been a little hard finding an appropriate size jersey.
Ok, you're scaring me... I better stop taking it asap! Already have two teens, don't need any "accidents"...
I don't think (hope?) that Astaxanthin is powerful enough to tear down the boundaries of latex or pharmaceutics. It's just that we expected a longer.... practise phase....
Hmmmm.....interesting. I think it's actually doing something. The last 2 days, the pain is not as present, but I'm not sure how to describe the sensation. The constant dull ache that I had on my elbow has diminished. It's almost like it's still there, but I have to be looking for it.
Around the same. Not any worse. I think it did help. So I will keep taking it. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk
So far so good. My tennis elbow has subsided quite a bit. But it may be a combination of taking the tablets, as well as doing daily rehab exercises with a theraband, powerball, and stretches. Mind you, I was doing the rehab exercises with the above items for over a year already before taking Astaxanthin. Before that I was not really feeling that I was improving, so perhaps Astaxanthin was my missing ingredient.
hmmm i've read the whole thread, and i kinda have question to you Dink... did your knees started to feel better at the same time you're losing weight? no offence but i really need to know if it's due to this astaxanthin or was it due to weight loss.
I believe everything (losing weight, exercising regularly, supplements, more rest/sleep) has helped but the main factor is the astaxanthin. Way back, when I was in good health, I had knee problems. Running and jump rope on concrete and tennis on hard courts lead to bad knees. Additionally, I have injured both knees multiple times that resulted in micro tears and bruising. Over 15 years ago I had my knees examined by an orthopedist and he said I had serious knee problems. I had degenerative knees, numerous micro tears, bad/torn/damaged ACL, MCL, LCL, patella, fibula. He said if I didn't get them fixed, I would have difficulty running and jumping (I already did). I needed surgery to correct everything and there was no guarantee I would be 100%. . Before my knees "healed", just applying light pressure to my knee cap would be quite painful and forget even trying to squat; the pain was immeasurable, I would fall over in pain. When I first started getting healthier (lost about 20lbs.), my knees didn't improve at all. It wasn't until I started taking astaxanthin that I noticed the improvements. Fast forward to the present day, I have absolutely no pain in my knees. I can even do a deep squat (or resting squat, ass to grass squat) for over 15 minutes and am working on the 30-minute deep squat challenge (I just started this). Again, prior, I could not even squat to 90 degrees much less perform a deep squat. More information on why the deep squat is so important for posture and mobility: http://placeofpersistence.com/30-30-squat-challenge-by-ido-portal/ Finally, though there is no pain, my knees are not truly 100%. If I play a lot of badminton, they still swell a bit. When I squat down, there are numerous clicking noises in and around my knees. BUT, all things considered, what has happened is incredible. I never thought I would be able to do unassisted deep squats without any pain and play badminton without hinged knees braces. P.S. I've stated this a few times in this thread, to reduce joint pain, the most important thing is to remove inflammation. If you are inflamed, no supplement will help. You have to remove the inflammation to give the supplements and your body's natural healing abilities to thrive.
Forget fish. Just go in a sea food diet. So if you "see" food, just eat it. Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk
