I need to buy a pair of shoes for the cort and I was wondering, what a good shoes for the game. I found these shoes on the net, have you guys heard of them, are they any good?

Any thoughts or recommendations

for a start the ones you're showing there are the old ones - not the new xcel - which look like this:

i haven't tried these but i have got the adrenalin pro xcel, which are the next ones in the range - i've found them to be very well made and very comfortable, but with not quite as much tackiness of grip as some other shoes.

Just talked to some long time badminton players and they told me to scrap the Hi-tec

Yonex SHB-92 definately

I own these shoes and to my opinion have very good performance.

ALTHOUGH, i HAVE read somewhere that (considering) 24/7 hardcore training, then these shoes will be through in 7-9 months.

92 and 95 are nice shoes, but be aware that the stability added by the carbon plate detracts from the felxibility of the shoe.

and I'd go with the Hi-Tec by the way, purely on price, but it's all down to individual preference.

i'm really confussed now, i was reading the reviews on the 92 and 95, people were saying that they are not as good as yonex old line, that they slip more easily, are uncomfortable when jump smashing.

Please folks, tell me what is the best Badminton shoe out there?

I was lucky enough to get the new yonex SHB88.. very comfortable, light and snug hit. Better fit than the AR series... I have not tried the SHB95. but this SHB88 is a great shoe :)

my typing is horrible... what I mean is snug "FIT" not hit...:D

I played last year with the Yonex SHB 92 which I found really good. They were extremely light and moving around the court felt quite easily. They were good for jumps and lunge. But the problem was after using them 10 months the right shoe got completely damaged, whilst the left one is still new.
Actually I am playing with the SHB 95. Those shoes are also not bad. Feeling is good on court. Really good Badminton shoes. But I think they are stiffer than the SHB 92.
I prefered the SHB 92. Both shoes are excellent for badminton.

Up to you to find out which pair is more adequate for you.

There is no definitive best shoe. You will have to try them to find out whether you like them or not.

i know of a 17 yr old play who had bad experience with his shb-92. The first pair was broken down (left toe arch) and yonex had replaced it. The replacment lasted just as short but yonex refused honor the warranty again. This guy had grey duct tapes wrap around his shoes now. Mind you though, this youngster had feet like 'side show bob' . He told me yonex had replaced a lot of shb-92 under warranty for other players too.

yes...in terms of durability..the SHB 92 might not last more than 7-8 months depending on how often/ how hard u play. Ignoring that fact though, if you're looking for something light, SHB 92 is the way to go....the grip needs time to get used to cause at first it slips, but after a week or so of playing, it's a lot better.

Then again, it's all up to you, try different pairs of shoes..If you like anything different, go for it

Well I went and bought the shb95Low(japanese version) model, not high cut one you see in the picture, very light shoe so far so good

These are the japansese versions which I have been told by many pro asia players to be much better thna the american version.

i second that. there is no point buying the newest and best looking shoes unless they fit you. badminton shoes is more about fit than fashion.

SBH 95 look stupid IMO, the xcel looks comfortable. I would base my descision on how much you play. If you are hardcore and play 3 or more times a week go for yonex. I you play 1, 2 or less times a week go ofr the xcel.

so let me rephrase what you just said...

a hardcore badminton player should wear something that looks stupid.

yet a weekend warrior badminton player should wear something that looks comfortable?

i have difficulty comprehending that one. :)

It doesn't matter which shoes you get as long they fit the following criteria
a) they are comfortable and a good fit for your feet;

b) they have proper support for the activities that you will be doing. E.g. for badminton, you will do a lot start and stop and side movements;

So what if they look stupid? Better be safe than sorry. Get the coolest looking shoes which doesn't fit the above criteria, you will end up injuring yourself.

Everyone has personal taste on which shoe looks nicer.

I'm currently waiting for my SHB-88 to arrive from Japan! :p
