View Full Version : Mizuno Hyperstring System
Ricky 03-30-2001, 09:42 AM Actually I can't read the Japanese, but the figure on hyperstring system at http://www.shuttle-house.com/MAIL-ORDER/Racket/MIZUNO-racket/19FUNCTION.jpg probably explains why these racquets are so good (at least in my opinion, they are the best badminton racquets I ever use).
Kelvin 03-30-2001, 10:50 AM Wow Ricky, you really like this shuttle house place don't you? :)
Interesting article.
Kelvin 03-30-2001, 10:55 AM Do you have anymore info on this Mystic Power???
Like a website or anything?
I was just looking at the picture... the design of the racquet seems similar to the Karakal equipment!
Except for the shape of the head...
Anyways... with the unique headshape... I have to ask you, are you stringing at the same tension all around the entire racquet head? or do you have a 2lbs difference?
Also what is your email address?
That way I can send you an email picture of the Karakal "Power Groove" system.
they seem similar in look...
anyways talk to you soon.

Brett 03-30-2001, 02:54 PM It looks like Mizuno now has three models, the Mystic Power 10, 100 and 300, priced at 12,000 yen (~$96 US), 15,000 yen (~$118 US), and 16,000 yen (~$126 US), respectively. Not too bad for a racquet that is supposed to be comparable to the MP100. Does Mizuno sell these rackets anywhere else in the world other than Japan and Hong Kong? If anyone else has seen one of these racquets elsewhere, how much does it cost?
Kelvin 03-31-2001, 03:03 AM your super sleuth is working on that right now. :)
Ricky 03-31-2001, 04:13 AM Because they have a lot of very good photos on latest badminton products released in Japan.
Ricky 03-31-2001, 04:29 AM Unfortunately, all information on Mystic Power are in Japanese (I read those descriptions on Mizuno's Web site - http://www.mizuno.co.jp with a translating program).
As I never use Karakal racquets, I can't comment on whether they are similar to Mizuno Mystic Power series or not. In my opinion, the most special feature of Mystic Power is the frame design - there is a concave track inside the entire frame, and this probably brings all the magic : much larger sweet spot, loose string tension slower, higher flexibility, etc.
Since all of my racquets are strung by coaches, I don't know whether they have put the 2lbs difference. I can check this out next time.
My e-mail address is rickyw@mail.com. Please feel free to send me e-mail.
Kelvin 03-31-2001, 04:58 AM Great, thanks!
Other Miznuno models, there are other models at this place that are pricier than the mystic power series. Actually, all Mizuno models range from 12000 yen to 18000 yen. That converts to about 150 canadian and 225 canadian respectively. I wonder how they play.

Kelvin, have you (or anyone else) actually played the Karakal racquets? I've been checking their racquets out on the web, and I even located the Swedish distributor (a squash shop! yikes) to order the SL-70 or 75. The prices are reasonable enough.
Kelvin 04-02-2001, 10:08 AM I'm in contact with the Western Canadian distributor... they want to me to help them promote their product. So does the Yang Yang distributor.
I have a feeling word will get around in my city again, and Yonex may be knocking on my door, but I don't think I'll have time to answer. ;)
Unless I hear something about free products for review on this website... hehehe...
As for Karakal, they are at a decent price here, and I will be testing them out when I have time.
They have some very interesting technology... I'm just wondering how this all translates on the court.
Guess I'll find out.
I'll let you know if I find out anything new, or when I start playing with them.
